The formative years of a child's life serve as the cornerstone for the development of their character. Recognizing that children spend a significant portion of their time within the familial sphere, parents must acknowledge that entrusting their child's education solely to a reputable institution does not absolve them of their parental obligations. A harmonious partnership between parents and educators is imperative to ensure the child's holistic growth and development. Cultivating a deep respect for school discipline and fostering a sense of pride in academic endeavors are crucial aspects of this collaborative effort.

Discipline
Regularity
- Attendance: Punctual and consistent school attendance is non-negotiable, whether at the commencement of the term or following vacations.
- Homework: Parents are encouraged to review daily class activities and ensure the diligent completion of all assigned homework.
- Active Engagement: Active parental involvement in school activities is crucial. Timely submission of assignments and projects by students is essential for academic progress.
- Staying Informed: Utilize the annual planner, school website, and other available resources to stay abreast of important dates including examinations, school events, parent-teacher meetings (PTMs), fee schedules and academic calendars.
Connect
Communication
- Daily Monitoring: Parents/Guardians are expected to review their child's daily diary diligently and acknowledge any teacher remarks or instructions with their signature. Consistent oversight of the diary is crucial for effective communication.
- School Correspondence: All correspondence addressed to the Principal should be routed through the respective class teacher. Kindly ensure your child's admission number, class and section are clearly mentioned in all communications.
- Contact Updates: Promptly notify the school of any changes to your contact information including address, designation and phone numbers — for timely communication and prompt assistance in emergencies.
- Parent-Teacher Interactions: Scheduled meetings with teachers are encouraged to discuss your child's academic progress and address any concerns. Appointments for meetings with the Principal are recommended for effective time management.
- Addressing Concerns: Utilize the school almanac as the initial channel for raising any concerns. If unresolved within three working days, escalate by emailing or scheduling a meeting with the Coordinator or Principal.
Ownership
Responsibility
- Personal Belongings: All personal items belonging to your child should be clearly labeled with their full name, admission number, class and section to facilitate easy identification and return.
- Parental Involvement: Dedicate quality time to reviewing your child's notebooks, particularly on weekends, to monitor academic progress and provide necessary guidance.
- Regular Attendance: Absences should be minimized. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their child promptly catches up on any missed lessons to avoid academic disruption.
- Valuables: To minimize the risk of loss, valuable items should be avoided at school. While the school will make reasonable efforts to recover lost items, the school cannot be held responsible for any personal belongings.
- Presentation & Hygiene: Students are expected to maintain a neat and presentable appearance at all times. Boys should adhere to a neat and tidy hairstyle, avoiding trendy or military cuts. Girls are encouraged to maintain well-groomed hair, preferably in braids or ponytails.
Wellbeing
Health & Safety
- Student Transportation: Parents are encouraged to accompany their young children, particularly those in Pre-Nursery to Grade V, to and from the designated bus stops. When visiting the school premises, please carry your valid school ID card.
- Emergency Procedures: In case of an emergency, parents or designated guardians are required to personally collect their child. Authorized individuals must have their photographs included in the school almanac and carry a duly filled application on record.
- Road Safety: Students utilizing personal transport must adhere to all traffic regulations including the mandatory use of helmets and possession of valid licenses. The use of motorcycles exceeding 50cc is strictly prohibited.
- Safety Measures: To maintain a secure and conducive learning environment, students are strictly prohibited from bringing sharp objects, electronic gadgets or any items deemed unsafe or inappropriate for the school premises.
Conduct
Behavior & Discipline
- Upholding School Ethos: Students are expected to adhere to the school's code of conduct at all times. Actions that disrupt the learning environment, cause damage to school property or demonstrate a lack of discipline will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.
- Digital Citizenship: The responsible use of digital platforms is paramount. Students are expected to refrain from posting inappropriate comments or images online — such actions may result in serious consequences including suspension or rustication.
- Substance Abstinence: The possession or consumption of alcohol, tobacco or any other intoxicating substances on school premises or during school-related activities is strictly prohibited.
- Health & Hygiene: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is crucial for optimal learning. Parents are encouraged to provide their children with nutritious wholesome meals — emphasizing a vegetarian diet to promote overall well-being and prevent issues such as lethargy or food poisoning.
Empathy
Thoughtfulness & Consideration
- Leave Policies: Minimize requests for half-day leaves whenever possible. When your child is unwell, prioritize recovery by keeping them at home. Avoid scheduling non-urgent appointments during school hours.
- In-School Illness: In the event of a medical emergency or unexpected illness while at school, parents/guardians will be promptly notified and are expected to collect their child without delay.
- Respect for the Community: Refrain from criticizing the school or individual teachers in the presence of your child. If you have concerns, address them privately with the Principal or designated Administrator.
- Celebrating Birthdays: Birthday celebrations should be modest and mindful of the learning environment. Primary-grade students may wear casual attire on their birthdays; Classes VI–XII are expected to adhere to the uniform policy.
Sustainability
Environmental Concerns
- Promoting Sustainability: KNPIS is committed to fostering an eco-conscious environment. To minimize our environmental impact, we encourage the elimination of single-use plastics. Kindly refrain from using plastic bags or excessive packaging when sending items to school.
- Digital Communication: In an effort to reduce paper consumption and promote sustainable practices, the school prioritizes digital communication. School newsletters, circulars and other important information will be readily accessible on the official school website.
